In 1964 the Associated Gospel Assemblies (AGA) advanced into the Red Hills Road Area of St. Andrew, Jamaica WI; with the birth of Emmanuel Gospel Assembly (EGA). Henry White & Albert Karram, the AGA’s Dynamic Duo, were the main persons that God used to ensure that EGA’s Home Base would be strategically located at 105e Red Hills Road. This location ensured that Emmanuel would have access to and be easily accessed by the surrounding communities.
EGA’s membership today includes saints who live in many of these same communities. The Pastors who have led Emmanuel in succession are Basil Chen, Lancelot Smart, Dennis Brown, Michael Bell, Peter Garth and presently Kevin Llewellyn. Pastor Lance Lewis also played a pivotal role as an Assistant Pastor, while attending Bible School. In recent years Pastors Owen Desgouttes and Shane O'Connor have served respectively, as intern and assistant pastors.
For well over Fifty years EGA may be compared to Israel’s Promise Land Journey. Today we are once again positioned at the edge of our promise land. It’s a land of growth, development and kingdom advancement. Therefore, we have to clarify our vision and make the necessary adjustments in order to ensure that God does not send us back into the wilderness of aimless wandering. Success is ours provided that we: embrace God’s Empowering Presence and follow His Pointing Finger.
